Influences: His best friend, Taemin Kim, influenced him to sing and dance at SM Entertainment and also works at SM Entertainment with him. Also a dancer from INFINITE named Howon Lee (Hoya).
What did they do to get famous?: He auditioned at many companies such as Cube Entertainment, Starship Entertainment, JYP and YG Entertainment but unfortunately Jongin didn't get accepted. In 2005, he got accepted to SM Entertainment and debuted with EXOTIC on January 18, 2012.
Achievements: On May 6, 2013, his group EXOTIC, received their first number one win on South Korean music program 'Music Bank' with their single 'Growl'. The following weekend, the song received number of wins on 'Show! Music Core' and 'The Music Trend', becoming a "Triple Crown" hit. They also won a champion trophy on music program 'Show Champion'.
Endorsements: He was in a commercial for Pepsi with his group, EXOTIC. Also, a commercial for Sunny 10, a fizzy fruit drink. Jongin appeared in a commercial for Samsung with his members.
